Disruptive S-Curves for Surface Controlled Gas Lift and ESPs

Abstract:

First, I am going to talk about some science related to innovation and market acceptance trends in new technologies.

Most are familiar with the S-Curve. Maybe some are familiar with the disruption curve. The next step is the interactions between these in technology ecosystems. I am going to define, show, and explain these. Then I will discuss my opinion on developments in surface-controlled gas lift. I will touch on ICVs as a general example of some concepts. ESPs will be discussed and how they progressed over time. Finally, I will compare ESPs and surface control gas lift against each other.

This presentation will show that it is important to look at the technologies that shape our industry, look for trends, look for patterns in those trends, and make decisions based on them. This takes defining what they look like (even if subjectively), discussing them, and refining them. To me it is fun an interesting to think about, but we should all pay attention to these innovations as we shape a better future for generations to come.
