Optimization of Gas Lift Compression for Increased Production
Presentation
Optimizing gas lift compression is a vital component in maximizing profits from gas lift fields, however the focus of gas lift compressor operations is usually on improving reliability and maintenance costs instead of improving performance and profits from the gas lift system.
A key to optimizing the gas lift system for best results is communicating and working across disciplines as the reservoir/production engineers, facilities/process engineers, operations, maintenance, systems and rotating equipment personnel all play a role while having different perspectives, and also many times different goals/metrics. How this can be done effectively will be discussed.
Case Histories will be shown on the results of optimizing compressor performance in the Middle and Far East.
Also, examples will be shared on how optimizing compressor throughput and production separator/gas lift manifold pressures based on well performance can increase production.
