Sucker Rod Modeling in 4-D

Sucker rod systems in deviated wells experience friction due to lateral forces exerted on the rods. These lateral forces change throughout the stroke as dynamic loads traverse the rod string. New sucker rod design/analysis software can model the lateral forces in 4-D (3-D reactions in time) to provide superior prediction and analysis of rod behavior.
