The Gas Well Workshop has been re-named to be the Unconventional Well Artificial Lift Strategies Workshop. This is to broaden the focus on unconventional oil and gas wells, including horizontals. The date and location of this workshop are still to be determined.  
Artificial Selection for Gas Wells
The Committee on Artificial Lift Selection for Gas Wells met on Feb. 19, 2017. The status of the project and current action items can be found by using the "hot link" on the left of this page. There is significant progress on the document, and completed sections can be downloaded and used. We'll meet again on the Sunday before the 2018 Workshop on Unconventional Wells Artificial Lift Strategies. The location of this Workshop is still to be determined.

The Selection of Artificial Lift Systems has been updated and re-organized. The new version can be seen by clicking on the link on the left of this page.

The status of each section of the document is shown on the link. Everyone is invited to review and use these sections for Artificial Lift evaluation and training.  
ALRDC Seminars
The 2017 ALRDC Seminar for new Artificial Lift Technology Inventors will be held at the Weatherford Technology and Training Center, 11909 Spencer Road, Houston, on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

The 2016 Gas Well Workshop was held on Feb. 28 - Mar. 2, 2016, in Denver.

The 2016 Gas-Lift Workshop was held in May, 2016, in Houston, Texas

The 2015 Sucker Rod Pumping Workshop was held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in Sept., 2015.

Horizontal Wells
See information on a new initiative for artificial lift of Horizontal Wells in the Recommended Practices section of this web site. We have formed an Industry Consortium to advance this technology. The first Consortium Meeting wes held in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Aug. 18 2012. The consortium is led by the Univ. of Tulsa. Contact Prof. Cem Sarica at for information on how to join the Consortium.
